Transcript of PAXed Scene

Sprinkler Scene:

Lee: I don’t believe this. A-h-h. This was my idea. It’s got to be over here somewhere. Where… AH!!! (Lee jumps out of his skin.)

Amanda: (Appearing from the bushes.) Hi!

Lee: (sigh) Amanda!…. You just about scared the hell out of me.

Amanda: Oh, I’m sorry. Now you know what it feels like.

Lee: Yeah. Well, wha… just what are you doing in my shrubs?

Amanda: What are you doing in your shrubs?

Lee: What ‘um…. I’m looking for a spicket to turn these sprinklers off. They… None of these seem to work.

Amanda: Did you turn them on?

Lee: No.

Amanda: They’re probably on an automatic timer. Right over here.

Lee: Automatic timer?

Amanda: Well, yeah, see living in an apartment you wouldn’t know about this. See you just check this.. aw, see, your timer’s off. You’ll have to have that fixed in the morning.

Lee: Ah.

Amanda: Huh.

Lee: I guess I.. I wouldn’t know about it.

Amanda: No. See? Nothing to it.

Lee: Alright, now what did you find out?

Amanda: Well, mother’s asleep.

Lee: What?

Amanda: But, I had an idea.

Lee: Hm?

Amanda: What about Mrs. Courtney?

Lee: Mrs. Courtney?

Amanda: Yeah, yeah. I know, I know. But listen, she is one of the leaders of the group. They’re going to protest at one of the chemical plants in the morning.

Lee: Do you know which one?

Amanda: No, I don’t. There’s going to be a vote in the morning. It’s going to be a secret until then and then we’re going to go straight from the meeting to the chemical plant.

Lee: OK, good. I’ll pass that on to Francine, see if she can’t dig a little deeper into Mrs. Courtney’s past. She may be able to find something that might connect her with Bethesda lab.

Amanda: Right.

Lee: Meanwhile…

Amanda: I’ll just go to the meeting in the morning and then I’ll get a message to you.

Lee: Good.

Amanda: OK.

Lee: Well, uh… oh, uh… thanks for helping me out with the sprinkler system.

Amanda: Oh, no problem. I mean, you know, you wouldn’t know about a thing like that. You got to have a little mechanical ability. (She turns to walk away.)

Lee: Uh.. yeah. (He turns and goes to the front door of his house. He tries the doorknob.) Damn it!

Amanda: (She stops and turns back around towards Lee.) What’s the matter?

Lee: I thought I… uh… (nervously laughing) I guess I just locked myself out.

Amanda: Look under the flower pot.

Lee: Flower pot?

Amanda: Yeah, there’s probably a key under the flower pot. It’s probably not a good idea, but we do it around here.

Lee: (Looks under the flower pot.) Ah! Ha ha! (as he finds the key) It’s a good idea.

Amanda: Yeah.

Lee: Thanks. Good night.

Amanda: Good night. (Goes back through the bushes.)

Lee: Hm. (Shakes his head and opens the door and goes in).

And now... episode bloopers from Katie "The Continuity Queen"

1. Ashford, or huh. Seems to me it it’s so close to Portland (as Billy says later) I’d have heard of it a time or two. Never have though. Now there’s an Ashland, but that’s at least a couple 3 hours or so to the south. Great Shakespearean festival there.

2. Great security that lab in Oregon has. Why always Oregon too? The one in AtWaS is here too, I do believe. Back to the security. One rent-a-cop patrols a high security place? And what is the beam thing? How is it protection if you just walk up to the panel on one side of it, shut it off and then walk in? Shouldn’t there be a lock panel over the number pad?

3. He is really interested in her M.S.E. group. That is great. Notice Fran isn’t though. She was listening and then Amanda started talking about M.S.E. and she turns away. Nice zing btw on Fran’s inability to save enough mileage.

4. Geez Fran! Don’t you know anything? Everyone knows c12 is half of cx-12. And you call yourself an agent. Sheesh. She does take a lot of gruff from Billy doesn’t she?

5. I am personally so very proud of both Lee and Fran. Billy on the other hand just fell several levels. Both Lee and Fran say Oregon correctly each time they say it. Billy however is obviously from the East Coast. Anyone from Oregon automatically gringes whenever it is pronounced or-E-gun. They could be anywhere in the world and it will grate on them and they will always correct the pronunciation. I do and have heard others do it too. Just a statewide pet peeve.

6. Just love that he knows her neighborhood streets and what houses are up for sale or rent. Billy must have picked up on that significance. Why and how does he know her neighborhood so well? Just how much is he over there anyway? I’m glad I pushed them together.

7. Oh I hate that scene. Her misunderstanding about why he is inquiring. It makes her look so foolish and in front of Billy and Fran. Can’t watch. Refuse. You’ll just have to tell me if anything continuity wise needed to be discussed from that. From the time she says Lee, you could... to the part where he says no, no. I turn away so I don’t have to watch. I did listen this time which is more than I usually do.

8. Just what is that monstrosity he is driving? Why can’t he drive his Vette? Better yet why can’t he use his last name? Samson (Always reminds me of Michael Landon but that’s another story. Ah. Sorry just realized the dreaded B reference). And you’d think that if he was going to use a cover name he should tell Amanda first. That way when she introduces you to her neighbors she doesn’t sound stupid. Guess not though.

9. How does Lee miss Castillo sitting in the car? He practically walks right by him. Way to observe your surroundings top spy guy.

10. He’s clapping; he’s not clapping. So fast you almost miss it. As the camera moves up behind Lee he is clapping as Amanda begins meeting. As the camera in front pans out he sits with his arms crossed. Must have decided split second that he really didn’t want to clap. Love the reaction to Mrs. Courtney. Big smile and laugh and then turns around and goes straight faced. Almost see an eye roll too. He is just so glad to be here. Must be pure torture.

11. Hey. Mrs. Courtney. You just better watch it with those opinions of what petitions and letters can do. You’d be amazed. Right guys?

12. Nice reception. Way to keep an open mind. I feel sorry for Leonard too. After all he’s not the owner of the plant and he is on the team trying to neutralize the chemical. Think anyone from the neighborhood noticed how friendly the new guy and Amanda are? He is putting his arm around her as they leave. You’d think word would get back to Dottie.

13. Boy Castillo works fast. He’s only been in town since yesterday. He’s managed to find, seduce and bed Jean all in that time. Unless you think he was bi-coastal for a time.

14. Little boys and their destructo mind sets. LOL

15. Later, when Lee starts openly coming around do you think Dottie thinks to herself… hey, he looks an awful lot like that renter we had for a short time in our neighborhood? Especially from profile? She jogs? Who’d a thought it? So, I’m guessing Dottie put the water on earlier and just asked Amanda if she wanted some? Otherwise they keep boiling water at the ready? Love the new neighbor discussion. How she pretends not to know him until Dottie describes him. Such a spy. So, she got close enough to tell he wasn’t married yet not close enough to get a good look at him. How do you get close enough to see no ring (would be only visible sign of no wife), yet not able to see his face? Like I said, bad spy. I think she should invite him for dinner. Could prove to be very interesting. LOL

16. Wonder what he was wearing when he was getting his paper. Let’s see… mid-shin length robe, exposed legs (will never believe he wears pas), tied loosely around waist, open a bit at the chest exposing that perfect dolphin skin, a bit of a beard and slightly combed hair. Oh.... baby.... Lets out breath didn’t know was holding... mmmmmm....Give me a sec. Yeah. Ready? Moving on.

17. A tongue sandwich? Yewwwww. And she adds ketchup? Double yewwww. Can they think of the most disgusting foods on this show or what? That sandwich thing from Rumors of My Death comes to mind. I say yewwww again.

18. Fran does get the choice assignments. She gets to sit in the parking lot of the lab all day. Talk about wasting govt. money and Fran’s time. How does she know Dr. Mallory’s contact, if she had one, isn’t on the inside? Or if they made contact by phone? Why isn’t she following her now? It's the middle of the day; Lee leaves for a meeting. Dr. Mallory could be meeting with her contact right now and Fran would never know it. Does she have to repeat tailing 101?

19. What is with that edit? Lee looks like he is about to bend down to get the pics from Fran, but all of a sudden he has them and is even switching them to his other hand. Edit guy? What is up with that? Or is it a Pax edit? What’d we miss?

20. See Lee in the background watch Amanda as she comes in and talks to Jean? So sweet. And how come she doesn’t tell Lee about the guy messing with his car immediately? She’s obviously suspicious, how she watches him, listens to his explanation and stops at the door. She must know this is Lee’s car for the time being.

21. Yeah, this doesn’t look suspicious at all. New guy to neighborhood who is very friendly with Amanda taking her out of meeting she just arrived at. Nothing weird about that.

22. Are they in the country or the city? As they drive you can see city streets, woods, houses and then woods again. Good thing the subdivision hadn’t expanded yet. They’d be right in the middle of it when the car blows if it had. Love how they both reach for each other’s hand as they run from the car. And how he covers her so she is protected. Too cute.

23. When Lee drives up to the lab, where’d Amanda go? Just before she had made her way to the back of the group, almost to the laundry truck. As Lee drives up he should pass her. That red skirt should be real easy to spot, but I don’t see her anywhere. And how come he’s not looking for her anyway? He knows she has to be there somewhere.

24. Oh! That cake comment was so not called for. How rude! This time I agree with Mrs. Courtney. You go girl. Like how she so stealthily backs away. The only one to notice seems to be that one larger lady with curly hair. Why is she staring at Amanda like that? LOL

25. I’m going to assume one of the phones in the bullpen also shows when Billy’s line is ringing. Otherwise he has some hearing to know his phone is ringing from outside in the noisy bullpen.

26. If this hcl is so unstable, why is it sitting in an open cup on the counter? I admit, I did not do well in chem. Is hcl unstable? Does it do the fog effect as it does here? Should they be walking through it? Wouldn’t it eat at their shoes if it's that corrosive?

27. Why does it take a deep probe to uncover her half ownership? Wouldn’t that be on her taxes or on the business’ taxes? It’d be on her W-2s. I wouldn’t think it would be that hard to find the connection.

28. She’s getting better at playing hostage. When he tells her to not move or say anything and she says "yeah", it has the air of … yeah, yeah. I’ve done this before. I know the drill.

29. Um… Jean? Did you happen to notice the gun your boyfriend has in his belt? You ask what’s going on? Think about if for a sec. I’m sure you’ll get it if you try. Doesn’t he play deranged good? Love when he goes into the description of how to press. As Amanda is watching him she’s probably thinking psycho. You sure know how to pick em Jean.

30. Always enjoy her "oh no’s", "ahs", "ow’s" and other little noises she does when she is desperate or freaked. This scene as he is untying her is an especially good example.

31. Lots of hand holding, arm touching and such in this one. Like how she pushes him down as they are sneaking around. Good teamwork. Is it me or does he look incredibly sexy in this scene? I know there’s the usual components… the open collar, the rustled hair, but there’s more here. I think it's all the steam. It adds to the ambiance and gives his skin just the right tonality and glistening. Eyes flutter shut. Breathe deep... Let it out through mouth...Smile.

32. Ok, you circle around to the right and distract him. You’re kidding! No! LOL. Well, he must think highly of her skills to ask her to do it. Still funny her reaction.

33. Another entry for all keeping track of his travels. At some time he was in Rio. Mark it as a been there, time questionable.

34. Where are the workers? We know at least one driver should be there, but how about all the people who run the machines? It just happen to be lunch?

35. Should he call her partner in front of Jean? Jean heard all the talk about Rio and how Castillo planned to kill him. He has a gun. He is obviously trying to catch Castillo. Must be some kind of police or agent. She should be able to put 2 and 2 together. And calling her partner would indicate they work together. Course, Jean was fooled by Castillo so obviously things slip by her easily.

36. Wow. She must be mad. She is just about yelling at them. Not that she doesn’t have the right. Did you see the kitchen? It's everywhere… cabinets, fridge, curtains, everywhere. Was this a fun project or a science project? I hope whichever kid has a back up plan if it was for school. You know what I want to see? How she opened the door holding that without getting any on her white shirt.

37. Did we miss something? When did he borrow the tongs? And why did he borrow the tongs? Just wondering. I read in another post something about a sprinkler scene. I don’t remember this. Can someone describe it for me? Where in the ep it goes and what happens. Thanks.

Special thanks to Katie for all of the time and hard work she has put into these Continuity Queen posts!
